what is epiodesigner? |
| |
epioDesigner automates
the process of planning, prototyping and testing
Enterprise web systems.
epioDesigner reduces the communication gap between
business-users and technologists during the requirements
analysis, prototyping and usability stages of the
software development life-cycle. epioDesigner is
based on standard processes and tools.
The design and new product development departments
have fine-tuned the use of use case analysis, and
UML for clear, rapid application analysis and prototyping.
These have been encapsulated into a process specifically
tailored for delivering web applications, however
the production of any type of application from win32
to WAP is possible.

 |
what does it do? |
| |
epiodesigner is a set
of tools...
- Project Manager
- Role Manager
- Entity Manager
- Navigation Manager |
|
- Workspace Manager
- Pattern Manager
- Styler / Colour Picker
- Usability Test Centre |
and a process (based on the design process that
proved so successful with epiowave V2 project) it
manages the solution lifecycle via a common information
pool.
- co-ordinates multidisciplinary teams
- captures requirements and system design
- facilitates the prototyping process
- automatically produces template applications
epiodesigner is based on a common-metadata-layer
concept.
it performs the following functions:
- centralises all information during the software
development process
- is the bridge to better integrate software development
teams.
- provides formalised requirements analysis and
specification structure
- automatically produces more accurate and realistic
prototypes
- automatically code-generates entire applications

my involvement |
| |
mainly I worked on transfering
the prototyping processes into a logical and cohesive
software suite. I specialised in the definition
of patterns used to set up the metadata layer input
forms. also the entity definition process which
is the most fundemental module in the epiodesigner
product. the product is currently in the post development,
testing phase.
